Split Steel Steel Pulley
Our split
steel steel pulley and sheaves are the proven cost-effective alternative to
stamped steel and some cast iron pulleys. Sizes for split steel pulleys
and sheaves are available in 3-to-12 inch diameters and can be supplied
with or without welded hubs, English, metric splined bores and tapered
bores to fit any mounting requirement.
Construction of a split steel pulley or sheave consists of splitting
a single solid steel blank as it spins to form a strong, uniform groove.
The thicker gage steel used in the fabrication provides superior strength,
durability, concentricity, and run-out control when compared to stamped
steel. Split steel pulleys do not have spot welds or rivets to fail like
their two-piece stamped counterparts.
